GYROTONIC® METHOD
GYROTONIC® Method
The Gyrotonic method is an original and unique movement method developed by Julie Horvath.
Performed on custom designed equipment, it addresses the entire person, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and improving strength and movement efficiency.
With Gyrotonic exercises, each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility.
Gyrotonic classes are designed to take the body beyond its current limitations. At the end of a Gyrotonic session the client experiences increased freedom of movement, greater strength and more agility. Athletes improve performance and rehabilitation clients recover more quickly and more fully, post injury.
GYROKINESIS® Method
The Gyrokinesis method is performed on a mat and chair. It incorporates the same spiraling, circular movements of Gyrotonic exercise that, with specific breathing patterns, creates a more supple spine.
Gyrokinesis classes can be adapted to fit anyone’s ability, including accomplished athletes, fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens and people recovering from an injury or dealing with a disability. By the end of a Gyrokinesis session, one’s entire system is awakened and brought into greater balance. Focus on the breath stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, resulting in a sense of calm, wellbeing and mental clarity.
